WALLIS
Furniture
WALLIS comes from the ambition to create a construction system, a method rather than a design object. The size of reused waste materials sets the limits defining the dimensions of the project: wallis armchair. Seven metal tubes with different thickness and length, along with elastic webbings, are the starting point of the project. An empirical search of balance and the survey of the forces acting on the different elements define the structure in which each component is essential. The frame is made of chrome-plated brass, aluminium and iron tubes screwed together. 25 metres of elastic webbing, secured to the edges of the frame, wrap around the entire system without interruption, creating a continuous weaving: an infinite that recalls the circular economy, the foundation of the entire creative process. Thanks to the metal joint that secures the structure, and the seat weaving that allows to wrap around the webbing without interruption, Wallis is extremely light and flexible. It can be easily assembled and disassembled ensuring the re-use of materials.
